SpaceX gets permission to connect planes, boats and other vehicles to Starlink internet service

Federal authorities have allowed SpaceX to link a range of vehicles to its satellite internet service, a victory for the company as it seeks to expand its customer base.

The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday allowed the Elon Musk-led company to begin operating Starlink, as its internet unit is called, on everything from planes and boats to RVs, according to an FCC order. The authorization covers both consumer vehicles and professional vehicles.
