Source: The NFL inflicts a fine of $ 250,000 on Jerry Jones of Cowboys for its gesture

Frisco, Texas – The owner and managing director of Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, was sentenced to a fine of $ 250,000 by the NFL for his obscene gesture “inadvertently” towards the fans of the Metlife Stadium on Sunday, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Videos on social networks showed Jones quickly showing his middle finger at the end of the 37-22 cowboys victory against New York Jets-after the fourth pass of Touché de Dak Prescott brought the advance to 37-14.

Earlier Tuesday, Jones said that this gesture was “unhappy”. He can call on the fine.

“It was unhappy. It was a kind of exchange with our fans in front of us,” Jones on Tuesday on 105.3 The fan in Dallas. “There was a swarm of fans of cowboys in front – not fans of jets, but fans of cowboys. The whole stadium was overflowing with cowboys enthusiasm, and certainly at the end of the match.

“(The gesture) was inadvertently on my part because it was just after our last touched, and we were all excited about it. There was no antagonistic problem or something like that. I just put the bad show on the hand. It was done inadvertently. I am not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can call it accidental. Quite quickly, but the intention was “well done”, and basically, I pointed out our fans because everyone was jumping from top to bottom, excited.

This is not the first time that the NFL has given a fine of an owner for poor interaction with fans.

Last year, the owner of the Carolina Panthers, David Tepper, was sentenced to a fine of $ 300,000 for “unacceptable behavior” after being filmed throwing a drink towards fans of the Jacksonville jaguars.

In 2009, Bud Adams, then owner of the Tennessee titans, was sentenced to a fine of $ 250,000 for driving prejudicial to the League after having made an obscene gesture when he celebrated a victory against the Bills of Buffalo.
