The 37-year-old comedian was due to perform a set at the Comedy Cellar in New York last month, but as he approached the venue he was hit in the face with ‘something metallic’ by a stranger and smelled that his nose had been « cut to the bone ».

“Oh man, that was a surprise first party,” he told “The Last Laugh” podcast.

“I was going up to go do the show. First of all, I didn’t get out of a car. I walked around there like any New Yorker and had just finished texting my cousin who was above the Cellar. As I put my phone in my pocket and continued walking to The Cellar like I always do, this man hit me in the face with something metallic. I thought it was brass knuckles because of how it cut my nose to the bone.

« I’ve been boxing for years so I once got punched in the face so it wasn’t terrifying but what was concerning was the amount of blood that was pouring out of my face. had two fractures to my nose and one to my cheek, but a fist normally doesn’t do all of that at once, so it’s safe to assume I got hit by something.
