Snow removal for seniors with motor difficulties

[ad_1]
The Maison de jeunes de Saint-Léonard is back this year with its snow removal brigade, which aims to help people aged 65 and over who live with functional limitations.
The service is intended for seniors in Leonards who have modest incomes – snow removal is free. Those who have already benefited from the service will not be given priority.
To carry out these tasks, the association recruits young people from the neighborhood aged 13 to 17. For each snow removal at an address, a young person will be paid $15.
Using shovels only, the snow removal brigade will intervene as soon as a snowfall exceeds 5cm. Schedules will be adapted so as not to conflict with the school timetable.
The service offers to clear snow from pedestrian and car paths in front of houses as well as porches and stairs.
After a certain age and in the absence of regular physical activity, shoveling snow can pose a health risk, including heart attacks according to the Montreal Heart Institute.
To register as a user, you can call 514-327-0185. To be part of the brigade, you can call the same number.
