Apotex Pharmaceutical Holdings Inc. — the generic drug company founded by a murdered canadian billionaire Barry Sherman – has signed an agreement to be acquired by US private equity firm SK Capital Partners.

Apotex employs nearly 8,000 people worldwide in manufacturing, research and development, and business operations.

Sherman founded the company in 1974.

It operates in over 45 countries, with a significant presence in Canada, the United States, Mexico and India.

The operation is subject to the usual regulatory conditions.

Sherman and his wife, Honey, were found dead in their home in Toronto on December 15, 2017.

No arrests were made.
