The caller said a woman – injured and covered in blood – was in the hallway of a residential complex.

An officer arriving at the building reviewed security camera footage from the resort and indicated that he knew the suspect.

The officer drove to a Circle K convenience store in the Donald Street and Vanier Parkway area, where the man was in an alley next to the store.

When told he was arrested, the suspect attempted to flee but was quickly tackled by officers and then repeatedly struck with a conducted energy weapon in the ensuing scuffle.

The suspect was taken to a train station for reservation, where he complained of breathing difficulties.
