Shinzo Abe taken to hospital after apparent shooting: NHK

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was taken to hospital with a haemorrhage after collapsing while delivering a speech in the western city of Nara, state broadcaster reported on Friday. NHK.
A sound resembling a gunshot was heard at the time and a male suspect was arrested at the scene, NHK said. An NHK reporter at the scene said he heard two consecutive bangs during Abe’s speech.
Kyodo News said the former prime minister was unconscious and appeared to be in cardiac arrest.
