Shawn Mendes Postpones Tour: ‘I’ve Reached a Breaking Point’

In an Instagram post on Friday, the 23-year-old Grammy-nominated singer said he was pushing back the next three weeks of his concert dates « until further notice. »

« I’ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it’s always been hard being on the road away from my friends and family, » Mendes wrote. « After a few years without a road I felt ready to dive back in, but this decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure caught up with me and I reached a breaking point. »

Mendes concluded his post, « After speaking with my team and medical professionals, I need to take some time off to heal and take care of myself and my mental health first and foremost. As soon as he there will be more updates i promise to leave you i love you guys. »

He received thousands of supportive comments in response to the post.
