Sennheiser has not launched high-end wireless headphones since the arrival of Momentum 4 in 2022. Of course, there were two sets of Accentum cans, but these offer more average performance in the range from $ 180 to $ 250. Instead of a momentum 5 for its latest version, the company has unveiled the HDB 630: a set of wireless wireless headphones at $ 500 which offer listening without a wired connection.
If you think the HDB 630 is very similar to Momentum 4, you are right. Sennheiser says that this new model “inherited” from the chassis of these 2022 headphones, but there is a new acoustic system inside for “targeted listening”. This configuration includes 42 mm dynamic speakers “designed for purity and not for media threshing”. As such, the company promises that you will hear “the atmosphere that has left the Mastering studio” thanks to particular attention paid to the mediums, singing and global dynamics.
These drivers are supported by a high -resolution digital audio engine that works for both wired and wireless listening. Via USB-C or 3.5 mm ports, you can expect to hear music with a resolution up to 24 bits/96 kHz. The HDB 630 is also delivered with a USB-C transmitter dongle for phones, tablets and other devices so that you can benefit from better quality with adaptive Aptx, even if your gadgets do not take care of it natively. “With only around 16 % of the smartphone equipment supporting high resolution native wireless sound, the Dongle included brings this capacity to 80 % of smartphone models in an instant via their USB type-C port,” Sennheiser said in a press release.
Several audio features are available on the HDB 630 for an “audiophile” experience. First of all, Sennheiser uses the crossfade function of his HE 1 helmet which mixes the left and right channels to give the impression that you listen to the speakers. There is also a new parametric equalizer for a more granular equalization control, complete with bandwidth, filter and A/B parameters. The company says that all parameter adjustments are then applied to the “Advanced Treatment System” of the HDB 630 so that the listeners determine the adjustment rather than the content or the application that provides it. Finally, users will soon have the possibility of sharing preregches via a QR code.
Another element that Sennheiser has retained from Momentum 4 is the long service life of the battery. Like this model, the HDB 630 will last up to 60 hours with activated ANC, so you will not often need a loading cable. In addition, a 10 -minute recharge will offer you seven hours of use. And when it’s time to travel, an airline adapter is included in the box.
The HDB 630 is available in pre -order from today at a price of $ 499.95. The expedition should start on October 21 from Sennhesier and other retailers.
