Iga Swiatek out of Wimbledon after shock loss to Alize Cornet

World number one Iga Swiatek’s 37-game unbeaten streak ended shivering in the July sun in London on Saturday afternoon after she was beaten in straight sets by unranked Frenchwoman Alize Cornet in one of the biggest clashes in recent Wimbledon history.

Cornet became the first woman to defeat the Pole in four months, winning in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) in a match where she dominated from start to finish.
