School year ends on a positive note for staff and students
Becky Druhan, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, congratulates students and staff on another successful school year, today June 30, the last day of school.
« Students and staff have accomplished so much over the past two years, and I thank everyone for their efforts to care for and educate our children, » said Minister Druhan. At the end of the school year, we can celebrate our academic successes and recognize the efforts of students and staff. »
Proms and end-of-year ceremonies, which have often been postponed or canceled over the past two years due to the pandemic, are back, and families can now join the community in the celebrations.
Nova Scotia’s school system has been able to keep students in school face-to-face longer than most other provinces. It also provides ongoing assessments of student achievement, which helps educators and leaders identify student learning needs and target resources and instructional improvements.
Minister Druhan thanked staff for their continued commitment to outdoor learning and emphasized that it will be a benefit for students to take advantage of the outdoors to learn and learn a connection to nature.
The government has promoted a healthy lifestyle through initiatives such as the Healthy Schools Grant, which funds programs and activities to support mental and physical health and cultural awareness .
