Saudi tourist attacked at gunpoint outside Central Park: cops

A Saudi tourist was assaulted at gunpoint just outside Central Park on Sunday morning, police and police sources said.

The 24-year-old victim was talking to two men about returning to his hotel room as they stood at Fifth Avenue and East 59th Street around 4.30am when one of the suspects pulled out a gun on fire, sources said.

The attackers took the victim’s mobile phone and fled on foot, police said.

Major crimes, including robbery, have skyrocketed in the city, according to NYPD data. Thefts have increased by around 40% across the city.
