Saskatchewan under province-wide alert, suspects on the run after ‘random’ stabbings


RCMP in Saskatchewan issued a province-wide alert on Sunday, saying two suspects are at large after multiple stabbings in places including James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon.

Melfort RCMP say there are early indications the victims are being attacked ‘randomly’, but they have not shared details on how many victims there may be or what condition they are in .

Police first issued the dangerous person alert just after 7 a.m., ordering residents in the Melfort area to take shelter and avoid leaving their homes.

Police are looking for Damien Sanderson, described as 5’7″ and 155 pounds, and Myles Sanderson, 6’1″ and 200 pounds, who both have black hair and brown eyes.

RCMP say the couple may be traveling in a black Nissan Rogue with license plate 119 MPI.

Police are asking people to call 911 if they see anything suspicious and ask that no one publicly share the location of officers.
