OPENAI CEO Sam Altman said on Monday that Chatgpt reached 800 million weekly active users, marking an increase in adoption between consumers, developers, businesses and governments.
The impressive chatgpt growth occurs while OpenAi is on a race to secure as many AI chips and build as many IA infrastructures as possible. He also occurs only two months after Openai said he was on the right track to reach 700 million weekly active users. It is an increase compared to 500 million weekly active users at the end of March.
“Today, 4 million developers have built with OpenAI,” said Altman on Openai development day. “More than 800 people use Chatppt every week, and we treat more than 6 billion tokens per minute on the API. Thanks to all of you, AI has gone from something to people with people with something people build every day.”
OPENAI clearly tries to strengthen these figures even more by focusing more on developers. In Dev Day, Altman said that the company had been launched today in a glimpse of an application SDK, or software development kit, to allow developers to “create real applications” inside Chatgpt.
“This will allow a new generation of interactive, adaptive and personalized applications with which you can discuss,” said Altman.
