Rogers outage today causes major service outage in Canada

Rogers customers are reporting widespread service outages early Friday morning.

Users have reported outages in internet, mobility and TV services in parts of the country, although the majority of outage reports come from southern Ontario.

Toronto and Peel police both issued statements about the outages Friday morning, saying they impacted customers’ ability to call 911. Others reported the outage impacted banking services.

Service tracking from search engine optimization firm Criterion Digital also indicates widespread outages. Many users have taken to social media for updates on the situation.

CTV News Toronto has contacted Rogers for a statement on the outages, but has yet to receive a response.
