RFK Jr. faces heated questions about CDC disorders, vaccine changes at the Senate hearing

Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming, Republican and doctor, said that he was “deeply concerned” of how Kennedy and the CDC vaccine panel tackled the recommendations.

“Secretary Kennedy, during your confirmation audience, you have promised to meet the highest standards for vaccines. Since then, I have been deeply worried,” said Barrasso. “The public has known epidemics of measles, leadership at the National Institute of Health questioning the use of mRNA vaccines, the recently confirmed Ceease Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director.

Barrasso cited the survey showing that a large majority of voters, including Trump voters, believe that vaccine recommendations should come from “trained, scientists, public health experts”. He asked what measures Kennedy would take to “ensure that the vaccination advice are clear, based on evidence and trustworthy”.

Kennedy said he “would clearly indicate, based on evidence and trust for the first time in history”. Under his direction, he said, the agency returns to carry out observation studies on existing vaccines, while new vaccines will have to demonstrate security. He said efforts intended to allow people to “understand the risk profile of these products and make good assessments for their own health”.

Questioned by Barrasso on the guarantees for the recommendations of science -based vaccines at the next panel meeting, Kennedy said: “The Americans have lost confidence in the CDC, and we must restore this faith. And we will do so by telling the truth and not by propaganda.”

“We are going to tell them what we know, we will tell them what we do not know, and we will tell them what we are looking for and how we do it and we are going to be transparent,” said Kennedy. “This is the only way to restore confidence in the agency, making it trustworthy.”

In June, Kennedy ousted the 17 members of the advisory committee for vaccination practices, or ACIP, and replaced them with hand -on -hand civil servants. The newly constituted panel should meet on September 18 and 19 to consider recommendations for updated vaccines.
