Rémousu Bureaucratique: Rajit Punhani appointed the head of the FSSAI, ATISH Chandra is special secretary to the PMO

Friday, August 22, in a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the main bureaucrat Rajit Punhani was appointed director general of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

Punhani, an officer of the 1991 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of the Bihar Cadre, is currently the Secretary of Skills in Development and Entrepreneurship.

In a prescription made by the personnel ministry, he will be replaced by Debashree Mukherjee in his previous post. Mukherjee is currently secretary of the Department of Water Resources, the Development of the River and the Rejuvenation of the Ganges.

The Mines Secretary, VL Kantha Rao, was shifted as secretary, department of water resources, the development of the river and the rejuvenation of the ganga.

Piyush Goyal, who is currently CEO of Natgrid under the Ministry of the Interior, has been appointed secretary, Ministry of Mines, in place of Rao.

Vijay Kumar was appointed secretary, ministry of ports, expedition and waterways. He is currently president of Inland Waterways Authority of India.

The secretary of farming and dairy Alka Upadhya was appointed secretary of the National Minority Commission. It will be replaced by Naresh Pal Gangwar, who is currently an additional secretary at the Ministry of the Environment, Forests and Climate Change.

Atish Chandra, additional secretary to the Prime Minister’s office (PMO), was appointed special secretary in the same place.

Sukriti Likhi was appointed OSD, department of former soldiers, Ministry of Defense. She is currently president of the convention on the chemical weapons of the national authority.

Roli Singh, additional secretary of the department of health and family well-being, will be the new president of the convention on the chemical weapons of the national authority in place of Likhi.

Trishaljit Sethi, Managing Director (Training) of the Ministry of Skills and Entrepreneurship, will be secretary, Central Vigilance Commission, said the order.

Niraj Verma, administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund, under the Telecommunications Department, was appointed OSD of the Ministry of Justice.

Ranjana Chopra, special secretary and financial advisor at the Ministry of Culture, will be OSD, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Sanjay Garg, additional secretary to the Department of Research and Agricultural Education and Secretary, Indian Agricultural Research Council, was appointed OSD of the Indian standards office under the Ministry of Consumption, Food and Public Distribution.
