Shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday, Peace Regional RCMP were called to a structure fire in Little Buffalo, along with the fire department.

When officers arrived, a log house and adjacent trailer were completely submerged. There were no occupants in the house or trailer and no injuries were reported.

Police said in a news release on Wednesday that the investigation found the fire was started by an accelerant.

Nearby surveillance footage shows a dark-colored Chevrolet Silverado with an extended cab approaching the house and trailer minutes before the fire started; he was later seen walking away.

The RCMP is trying to speak to the occupants of the truck. Anyone with information about the vehicle, its owner or its occupants is asked to contact the police.

Little Buffalo is 465 kilometers northwest of Edmonton.
