RCMP investigating sudden death of infant in northern Alberta as homicide

HIGH PRAIRIE, Alta. – RCMP say their Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death of an infant in northern Alberta as a homicide.
Police said they responded to an October 6 report from High Prairie Regional Hospital of the sudden death of a seven-month-old boy.
Mounties say in a statement that the boy died at a residence in the city about 370 kilometers northwest of Edmonton.
An autopsy on Tuesday determined the death to be a homicide.
According to the police, there were no arrests.
No other details were disclosed.
