RCMP investigate sudden death in Port aux Basques

Police are investigating the discovery Saturday of a body in a residential area of ​​Channel-Port aux Basques.

In a statement released Sunday morning, the RCMP said multiple units including Forensics, Police Dog Services, Western District General Investigation Section and Major Crimes Unit are involved.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was also engaged.

An RCMP spokesperson told CBC News in an email Sunday that the body was that of a man in his 20s and was found outside in the residential area near Main Street West.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
