Quebec region: Quebec solidaire wishes to be a “strong opposition”

The solidary candidates of the region of Quebec claim a mandate allowing them to be a “strong” opposition and continue to hit on the nail of the third link, a “real farce” in their opinion.

« What I hear is that people say to themselves ‘it’s going to be who we’re going to choose as the opposition in Quebec.’ Do we really want to give all powers to the CAQ? No. We must have a deputation, a united opposition which is strong, ”asked Sol Zanetti, outgoing deputy for Jean-Lesage, Friday morning.

According to him, Québec solidaire (QS) is the only party with a “truly different vision”, while “all the others propose one form or another of 3^e link ».

He believes that QS has proven itself, for example by fighting for better air quality in central districts.

A symbol

The tunnel desired by the CAQ was also the victim of the strongest criticism during the press conference called by the regional campaign of QS, at the end of the weekend of the vote.

The CAQ and the PCQ « want people to stay stuck in traffic, to spend more time in their car », he says, arguing that the science is clear and that increasing road capacity can only increase congestion and polluting emissions.

He also questions the estimated cost of the CAQ tunnel of $6.5 million.

« Nobody [ne] believe that number and in my opinion, in our opinion, it’s probably more based on surveys than on real technical studies, ”he argues.

He is of the opinion that “François Legault disrespected the intelligence of Quebecers” because of his “lack of transparency” in this file.
