Quebec Provincial Police investigate a deadly fire in the Eastern Townships – Montreal
Quebec provincial police are investigating a deadly fire early in the morning in the province’s Eastern Townships.
Police say firefighters were called to a building containing a commercial garage and residence in the village of Mansonville, near the Vermont border, around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police spokesperson, Sgt. Catherine Bernard says firefighters found one person’s body after taking control of the blaze.
She says they were unable to identify the individual or determine if it was male or female.
Bernard says police will investigate to determine both the person’s cause of death and the cause of the fire, which remain unknown.
She says the Major Crimes Squad will investigate.
