Quebec: fire at the Acadia hotel

The Acadia hotel, located in downtown Quebec, was engulfed in flames late Sunday morning.

According to the Quebec City fire department, the call to 911 was made around 11:15 a.m. by a passerby who saw smoke coming out of the roof.

The facility has been evacuated and no one has been injured so far.
The fire being important, five alarms were triggered to mobilize 80 firefighters on the scene.

“A worsening is always possible due to the smoke which continues to come out of the roof”, indicated the fire department while the firefighters were busy controlling the fire which originated in the roof of the building.
