Nova Scotia Power is reporting sporadic outages across the province as the remnants of Nicole hit the area Saturday with heavy rain and high winds.
As of noon AT Saturday, the utility map showed there were 43 active outages in the province affecting just over 900 customers. That was down from 44 active outages and 12,640 homes and businesses without power an hour earlier.
Power was out for more than 9,300 customers in the Halifax area Saturday morning, but as of noon the utility outage map recorded less than 100 customers without power.
A Nova Scotia Power spokesperson said the cause of the outages in Halifax was being investigated.
The second most affected area was in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park region.
Nova Scotia Power said more than 2,700 customers were without power in that area Saturday morning, but by noon the utility outage map showed power had been fully restored.
Outages are reported across the province.
Over 380 customers are without power in the Port Hawkesbury area. In Lunenburg, more than 300 customers are affected.
