Power outage expected in Kelowna Saturday morning – Okanagan


Several hundred people in Kelowna will be temporarily without power on Saturday morning.

FortisBC says power will be shut off in the Mission area, along Gordon Drive. The outage will begin at 9 a.m. and last approximately four hours.

The energy company says about 700 customers will be affected.

According to FortisBC, the outage is needed so crews can replace a utility pole that was damaged in a car crash on Thursday night.

He said the pole was being supported by a bucket truck on Friday to keep power going for schools and local residents.
