Police investigate fatal stabbing in North York


Police are collecting evidence Saturday at the scene of a stabbing in North York on Friday that left two people dead and a suspect in hospital.

Toronto police say they responded to a call for a stabbing near 4600 Bathurst Street, south of Ellerslie Avenue, just after 3:30 p.m. Police say a woman and a man got into an altercation before a stab wound.

Police said they arrived to find the woman and another seriously injured person. Both people died at the scene, police said.

Officers found a third injured person near the scene, police said. According to the police, the person was arrested and transported to the hospital. There are no other suspects at this time, police added.

Police said there would be an increased number of officers near the scene on Saturday as homicide detectives investigate the incident.
