Police book The driver of the campaign vehicle of TVK Vijay as part of Karur Rally Stampede

A case was registered against the driver of the campaign vehicle of actor-polician Vijay as part of an accident in which he would have been involved on the way to the Karur gathering of September 27, where a stampede has cost the life of 41 people, police announced.

The TVK chief campaign vehicle was also included in the FIR, they added.

The case concerns an incident in which several fans of Vijay, who led their motorcycles very close to the campaign bus, to have an overview of the star and met an accident involving the campaign vehicle. A video clip allegedly showing that this bizarre accident was played by several television channels and widely shared on social networks.

The high court also raised questions about the reasons why no measure was taken against the bus driver for his presumed involvement in the accident, en route to Karur, where a jostling in the rally cost 41 lives and was around 60 injured.

In his ordinance, the court said: “It was also brought to the attention of this court that the video presented by the petitioner’s principal lawyer, who was also widely disseminated in the printed and visual media, clearly shows that the bus transporting Vijay, the head of the political party, was involved in an accident.” “In the images, it is obviously obvious that two motorcycles were involved in the accident and that the driver of the bus, after seeing the incident, fled the premises,” observed the high court.

Likewise, another accident at the back of the bus is also captured in a video clip. This is seen by the person sitting on the left front side of the bus. In both cases, no information report was recorded by the respondent’s police for Hit and Run offenses, the court observed.

“This court expresses his deep anxiety and his concern concerning the failure of the authorities to take measures. Even in the absence of an official complaint of the stretched parties, it is in the state to register a FIR SUO MOTU and to ensure that the accused is confronted with the law in accordance with the law,” said the court.

On Sunday, several sources from the Karur Superintendent Office of the police and at the Velayuthampalaym police station confirmed to PTI that the cases had been reserved in relation to the accidents captured in the video involving collisions with the bus in which Vijay was deployed.
