PM Modi too The Congress party was targeted to have ignored Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast region for decades.
Speaking during a public rally in Itanagar, Prime Minister Modi allegedly alleged that the previous governments led by the Congress considered the State as politically not significant.
“Parties like Congress thought there were so few people and only two seats of Lok Sabha, so why pay attention to Arunachal? This state of mind of the Congress caused significant damage to Arunachal and the whole of the North East. The BJP released India from the state of mind of the Congress,” he said.
The PM stressed the past by what it described as an increased commitment under the BJP rule. “As Prime Minister, I came to the northeast more than 70 times. I love the northeast of the heart, and that is why we have erased the distance from the heart and close Delhi from you,” added Modi Modi.
He also underlined the financial allowances, noting that under the congress, Arunachal Pradesh had only received 6,000 crores ₹ in central taxes in ten years, while the government led by the BJP has almost transferred 1 ₹ Lakh crores in the last decade.
“In other words, the BJP government has given Arunachal 16 times more funds,” he said.
