The bridge has been constructed parallel to an old dilapidated 2-lane road-rail bridge ‘Rajendra Setu’, which is in poor condition, forcing heavy vehicles to swerve. The new bridge will reduce the additional travel distance by over 100 km for heavy vehicles traveling between the regions of North Bihar (Begusarai, Supaul, Madhubani, Purnea, Araria, etc.) and South Bihar (Sheikhpura, Nawada, Lakhisarai, etc.). This will also help reduce traffic congestion problems in other parts of the region.
“I urge everyone to come to Gayaji to listen to the country’s most popular leader, Modi ji,” Choudhary added.
This will be Modi’s last stop in a series of visits to Bihar ahead of the upcoming National Assembly elections, scheduled for later this year. He has already visited Motihari, Siwan, Madhubani and Patna since April.
