PGA: Russell Henley well in the saddle at the top

American Russell Henley concluded the second round of the Sony Open on Friday in Hawaii with a comfortable three-stroke lead.

For a second consecutive day, Henley thwarted the difficulties of the Waialae Golf Club course, which allowed him to deliver a card of 63 (-7). The 32-year-old stalled two eagles, five birdies and two bogeys.

It thus displays a cumulative of 125 (-15). He will therefore start the third round with three priority shots over the Chinese Haotong Li. American Matt Kuchar is in third place, four shots behind the leader.

Canadians Corey Conners and Adam Svensson continued their momentum from the day before. They again gave an identical card, this time with a score of 67 (-3). They have thus jumped four positions in the standings and share fifth place, six strokes behind the leader.

The other three Maple Leaf representatives in contention were unable to secure their spot for the weekend rounds. Despite a great second day during which he hit the white object 67 (-3) times, Roger Sloan had to settle for 90th place, with a score of 138 (-2). Taylor Pendrith (141; +1) and Michael Gligic (143; +3) were also victims of the ax.
