PHOENIX — Brandon Ingram had 37 points and the New Orleans Pelicans netted a win against favorites out West by beating the Suns 125-114 in Phoenix on Tuesday.

This equals the streak at one win on each side.

CJ McCollum added 23 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.

The third matchup will take place on Friday, in Louisiana.

The Suns had by far the best record in the NBA this season, 64-18.

Suns star guard Devin Booker provided 31 points in the first half before having to leave with a back right thigh problem.

The Pelicans were leading 77-74 when he had to quit late in the third quarter.

Willie Green’s squad went 36-46 and had to make it past the qualifying tournament.

Ingram gave the Pelicans a 118-110 lead with his second three-point shot in one minute, with 2:41 on the clock.

Chris Paul had 17 points and 14 assists for the Suns.
