OPENAI has a way to work with applications directly inside Chatgpt. The idea is that, from a conversation with the chatbot, you can essentially label the applications to help you perform a task while Chatgpt offers context and advice.
The company has shown different ways that this can work. In a live demo, an OpenAi employee launched Chatgpt, then asked Canva to create a poster for a name for a dog bargaining company; After a little wait, Canva returned with some different examples, and the presenter followed by asking for a generated pitch deck based on the poster. The employee also asked Zillow via Chatgpt to show houses for sale in Pittsburgh, and he created an interactive zillow card – of which the employee then asked follow -up questions.
The applications available inside Chatgpt from today will include Booking.com, Canva, Racera, Expedia, Figma, Spotify and Zillow. In the “weeks to come”, Openai will add more applications, such as Doordash, Opentable, Target and Uber. Openai recently started allowing Chatgpt users to shop on Etsy via the chatbot, part of its global thrust to integrate it into the rest of the web.
Developers can access SDK to create preview applications from today. Later this year, developers will be able to submit applications for examination and publication, and OPENAI also plans to offer a directory to users to browse applications, according to the CEO of Openai, Sam Altman. The company will share advice on “soon” monetization, says Altman.
