OPENAI Lance Agentkit to help developers build and send AI agents

OPENAI CEO Sam Altman announced on Monday the launch of Agentkit, a toolbox for the construction and deployment of AI agents during the DEV day event.

“Agentkit is a complete set of construction blocks available in the open AI platform designed to help you pass production prototype agents. This is all you need to build, deploy and optimize the workflows of agents with much less friction,” said Altman.

The launch highlights Openai’s thrust to increase the adoption of developers by making agent construction faster and easier. It also reports a competitive decision against other AI platforms that run to offer integrated tools to build autonomous agents for companies that can perform complex tasks, not just to respond to prompts.

Agentkit has been one of the many announcements at OpenAi in Openai, including the launch of the possibility of creating applications directly inside Chatgpt, which has reached 800 million weekly active users.

Agentkit includes some basic capacities. The first is an agent Builder, which Altman described as Canva for construction agents.

“It is a quick and visual way to design logic, steps, ideas,” said Altman. “It is built on the API responses that hundreds of thousands of developers already use.”

Agentkit’s second capacity is Chatkit, which provides a simple integrated chat interface that developers can use to provide cat experiences in their own applications.

“You can bring your own brand, your own workflow, everything that makes your own unique product,” said Altman.

Evals for agents introduces tools to measure the performance of AI agents, including the step-by-step trace classification, data sets to assess individual agent components, automated prompt optimization and the possibility of performing assessments on external models directly from the OpenAi platform.

Finally, Agentkit includes access to the OPENAI connectors’ register, so that the developers can safely connect agents to internal tools and third -party systems via an “administration configuration panel” while retaining security and control.

To prove how easy it is to use Agentkit, Christina Huang, an OPENAI engineer, built an entire IA workflow and two AI agents live on stage in less than eight minutes.

“This is all we wanted to have when we try to build our first agents,” said Altman, noting that Optai has already signed several launch partners who have already set up agents using Agentkit.
