TORONTO — Ontario has reported 23 deaths related to COVID-19 in the past two days.

Provincial authorities had not released a report since Thursday because of the Good Friday holiday.

They report 1130 hospitalizations. However, some hospitals do not report their results over the weekend.

There were 1,427 patients in hospitals on Friday, against 1,392 the day before.

4,201 new infections were reported on Saturday, but access to PCR tests is limited to priority clienteles. According to the scientific director of the committee of experts, the analysis of wastewater suggests rather that between 100,000 and 120,000 new infections appear each day in Ontario.

The positivity rate was 18.5%.
