One person injured in downtown shooting, Windsor police say


Police are appealing to the public for advice after an early morning shooting in downtown Windsor left one person injured.

Windsor Police Services said officers responded to a call at 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Ouellette Avenue. A person was “quickly apprehended as part of the investigation”, according to the police.

One person was injured and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators are looking for CCTV footage of the public that could help.

“The investigation is in its early stages and further information will be provided as the investigation continues,” police said in a statement.
