One dead in Sunday morning crash in Henday near Rabbit Hill Road

One person died after an accident on Sunday morning on Anthony Henday Drive near Rabbit Hill Road, police say.

Officers have closed the westbound lanes from Rabbit Hill Road to Terwillegar Drive as police investigate, spokeswoman Cheryl Voordenhout said in a news release at 5:20 a.m. Sunday.

The death follows the death of a pedestrian Saturday morning on Highway 2 near Leduc.

Leduc RCMP responded to the accident on Highway 2, north of Highway 625 in the southbound lanes, around 5:30 a.m. Sunday. The pedestrian had been hit by a sedan and was pronounced dead at the scene.
