Olivia Cooke’s crazy night before the filming of “The House of the Dragon”

Looks like the new Alicent Hightower is less of a good two-shoe on “House of the Dragon.”

Olivia Cooke, 28, who will reprise the role of pious good girl Queen Alicent Hightower in ‘House of the Dragon’ after a 10-year time jump in this Sunday’s sixth episode, had a wild night ahead of her first day on set.

During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Cooke said she showed up to film the hit prequel series “Game of Thrones” with a murderous hangover and even a “chipped tooth,” after a drinking night with comedian Alan Carr.

“It was amazing and I was very hungover. Really bad. I never do that,” Cooke said. “I don’t remember coming home. I remember, I head down to put my hair in a pony [tail] and fell. I woke up the next day and had a chip in my tooth. A very slight sheen, but enough for the tongue to magnify it. And you’re like, ‘What did I do?’ Nobody knew on set…until now.

For the first five episodes of the series, the role of Alicent was played by 19-year-old Emily Carey. Alicent is Princess Rhaenyra’s former best friend turned stepmother. She is a people-pleaser and an ultimate good girl: she is pious and she judges Rhaenyra a lot in the fourth episode when she learns that Rhaenyra had a wild night and possibly had sex. In fact, Alicent is so much holier than you that she turns against Rhaenyra because of it.

So, needless to say, this behavior from Cooke is something Alicent herself would turn her nose up at.

Alicent was between 14 and 19 years old in the first episodes of the series, when she was played by Carey. Now, as Cooke takes over the role, the character is around 30 years old.

Cooke also said: “I wish Emily Carey had sucked a little more at her job, so I could come in and say, ‘Don’t worry, guys, I’ve got this. ”

And she confessed that although she’s a ‘Game of Thrones’ fan now, she lied about it when she was first cast. Similar to Rhaenyra actress Milly Alcock, who is also replaced after the time jump, she said, “I watched it after I got the job and I love it.”
