Oliver, Jack and Charlotte are the top baby names of 2022 in Nova Scotia – Halifax


Nova Scotia has released its list of the best baby names for 2022 – and some favorites remain on the list.

The first name among the 6,828 births recorded so far this year was Oliver.

In 2021, this distinction went to Olivia.

According to the province’s Vital Statistics Registry, while the most popular names have remained constant over the years – Emma and Charlotte, for example – some newer ones are gaining popularity, including Grayson and Beau.

Nova Scotia began officially registering births on August 1, 1864. At the time, the most popular names were Mary and John.
