Olaf Scholz tests positive for COVID-19 – POLITICO
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has tested positive for COVID-19.
A government spokesperson announced that Scholz was showing mild symptoms of a cold and was self-isolating in the Chancellor’s apartment at the Federal Chancellery.
“This week’s public meetings will be cancelled. The Chancellor wants to attend the internal appointments and the planned meeting with the Prime Ministers of the federal states virtually, ”says a statement from the Chancellery.
Scholz has just returned from a two-day trip to the Persian Gulf region, where he signed a gas contract with the United Arab Emirates.
