Nunavut extends COVID-19 reminder to children ages 5-11

Nunavut children aged 5 to 11 will now be able to receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
On Friday afternoon, the territory’s health department announced it was expanding the number of people who can receive the booster.
It is available to people who received their second dose of the vaccine at least six months ago.
A public service announcement from the department warns of a possible new wave of infections as the weather gets colder and people spend more time indoors. He urged Nunavummiut to prepare for an increase in cases by getting vaccinated.
The department also announced it was expanding the first and second doses of the vaccine to children aged six months to four years.
The doses will be lower than those given to older children.
