NFL: a last chance to prove himself for Ridder
The Atlanta Falcons will be relying on Marcus Mariota behind center for the 2022 season, but they spied on who should be their long-term quarterback one last time Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Desmond Ridder thus helped his team triumph 28-12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars to close their preparatory calendar.

The second center selected at the most recent amateur auction, in the third round (74th overall), completed two-thirds of his 21 stints for 185 yards. However, he was the victim of two thefts, but managed a touchdown pass.
It was on the ground, however, that the Falcons had success, scoring three of their four majors that way.
The Falcons and Jaguars will each begin their 2022 season on September 11 against the New Orleans Saints and Washington Commanders respectively.
