The plane slammed into the ground next to a building on Monday, killing 15 people
A new video has emerged showing the very moment a malfunctioning Su-34 fighter-bomber crashed on Monday right next to a nine-story building in the southern Russian city of Yeysk.
The dash cam footage that captured the incident was published by Russian news outlet Mash, which said it received it from its readers. Video shows pilots ejecting just before the plane plunged near the building, causing a massive explosion. A white parachute was visible in the night sky.
A total of 15 people died, including three children, when ammunition from the plane’s guns exploded. Both pilots survived. The plane carried neither bombs nor missiles.
Dozens have been hospitalized and more than 360 people have been evacuated. A total of 72 apartments were damaged.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the plane was on a routine training flight when one of the engines caught fire in flight. A criminal investigation has been opened following the tragedy.

Located in the Krasnodar region, the port of Yeysk is on the Sea of Azov, opposite the city of Mariupol.
