NBA will not move the All-Star game of the Clippers probe in Los Angeles

Stamford, Connecticut – The NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, said on Monday that there was “no contemplation” to move the stars game of the original arena of the clippers while the league examines if the team has circumvented the rules of salary ceiling with regard to Kawhi Leonard.

The League said that it opened the investigation last month after a report by the journalist Pablo Torre focused on an approval contract of $ 28 million between Leonard and Fund Advising LLC, a sustainability company based in California which has filed its bankruptcy this year.

The owner of Clippers, Steve Ballmer, made an investment of $ 50 million in the aspiration, and the company and the team announced a partnership of $ 300 million in September 2021.

The NBA can issue solid penalties if the CAP rules have been broken by a team, including a fine of up to 7.5 million dollars, contracts of contracts and the confiscation of future recovery choices.

But the mid-season festivities of the League Dome will not be affected.

“There is no contemplation to move the game of the stars,” said Silver, “and the planning of the stars game and the surrounding activities operate completely independently of the current investigation.”

Silver spoke at NBC Sports headquarters to discuss the return of the network to the broadcast of the league this season. The All -Star game – with an expected new format opposing us and an international team – will be televised by NBC on February 15.

The NBA announced in January 2024 that it would bring the 2026 stars weekend in Intuit Dome before its opening. The arena, which has opened for the 2024-25 season, should also accommodate basketball at the 2028 Olympic Games.
