Navi Upi launches biometric payments, simplified integrated into the Global Fintech Festival 2025

Navi Upi Tuesday has introduced two new features: biometric authentication for payments and a simplified integration process – during the Global Fintech Festival 2025, in a decision which, according to him, will make digital transactions more transparent and secure.

With the launch, Navi becomes the first UPI application in India to allow large -scale biometric payments, allowing users to approve transactions by fingerprint or facial recognition instead of entering a UPI pin.

Although biometric verification is available in limited drivers on UPI platforms before, the deployment of Navi marks the first deployment on a integrated scale directly in the payment flow of an application. The functionality is introduced in the phases on Android and iOS devices.

“Security and simplicity have always been the main pillars of our product philosophy,” said Rajiv Naresh, Managing Director and CEO of Navi Limited (formerly Navi Technologies). “With these new deployments, we define a new reference for confidence and convenience in digital payments.”

In addition to biometric functionality, Navi has also rationalized UPI integration, reducing the steps necessary to create an UPI ID and link bank accounts. The application now allows users to start the transaction in a few minutes using self-checking, a step that the company claims will reduce user abandonment during recording.

Navi’s decision arrives at a time when the interface of unified payments of India (UPI) continues to dominate the landscape of digital payments, dealing with more than 14 billion transactions per month. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which supervises UPI, encouraged innovation around security and ease of use to extend adoption in small cities and among new users.
