Going by current trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a clear lead in the municipal elections.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Election Results
According to available figures, the BJP is leading in 66 seats, while the Shiv Sena (Shinde) is leading in 42 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT) is leading with two seats and MNS with one. No other party has opened its account so far, according to preliminary data from counting centers.
Trends are still evolving. Officials cautioned that those numbers could change as the count progresses into additional rounds.
Polling for the Navi Mumbai civic body was held on January 15, with a stable turnout in most wards.

How the previous Navi Mumbai civic polls fared
In the 2017 Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, a total of 111 seats were contested.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) emerged as the largest party with 52 seats, followed by the undivided Shiv Sena with 38 seats.
The Congress won 10 seats, the BJP six and five seats went to independents.
Statewide Context
The NMMC results are being closely watched in the backdrop of the recent local body elections in Maharashtra. In the previous phases, the BJP emerged as the single largest party in 129 out of 288 local bodies, while the ruling Mahayuti alliance collectively crossed the 200 mark.

In contrast, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) performed modestly, with the Congress winning 35 local bodies, while Shiv Sena (UBT) and the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) got eight each.
When final NMMC results are expected
As the countdown continues, the question will be whether the early leads hold up once all neighborhoods are included. Any narrowing or widening of the margins between the Shiv Sena (Shinde) and the BJP could shape the final outcome.
Officials said updates would be released at regular intervals throughout the day. A clearer picture is expected once the count moves past the initial phase and the remaining neighborhoods are occupied.
