Montreal: Police are looking for the second suspect in a murder committed on April 16

MONTREAL — The police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who may be linked to the 7th homicide committed this year in the territory served by the Montreal police.

Two suspects were involved in the shooting of Steven Marques, a 46-year-old man, which occurred in the late evening of April 16, at the intersection of rue Jean-Talon and boulevard Saint-Laurent, in the north of the city.

One of them, Marcus Barthelus, was arrested on May 12.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Section of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) are still looking for the second suspect.

He is a white-skinned man, of slender stature, whose hair is dark and short. Police say he was dressed in dark pants and a plaid shirt with a black hood during the homicide.

Footage of the suspect was captured by surveillance cameras.

Anyone with information that could help investigators capture this suspect or advance the investigation can contact the 911 emergency call center or anonymously and confidentially, Info-Crime Montreal.
