MLS: Atlanta player suspended for homophobic remarks

Major League Soccer (MLS) suspended Atlanta United midfielder Santiago Sosa for three games on Saturday for allegedly making homophobic remarks.

Circuit Garber also imposed a fine on Santiago Sosa, the amount of which was not disclosed. The alleged facts allegedly occurred during his team’s game against the New England Revolution on 1er october.

Sosa will also have to participate in training sessions related to the LGBTQ+ community.

With Atlanta eliminated from the playoffs, the suspension will be imposed on Sosa in his final game of the season on Sunday against New York City FC, as well as in the first two games of the 2023 season.
