OTTAWA — Dedrick Mills rushed for 100 yards on Friday, helping the Calgary Stampeders win 17-3 over the Ottawa Redblacks.
Bo Levi Mitchell had 142 passing yards. He’s just one passing yard away from becoming the Stampeders’ yardage leader (5-2).
Rene Parades had three field goals including 51 yards for the Stampeders, who had lost their last two games.
Calgary’s only touchdown came from an interception.
Caleb Evans, solid last week, completed just 10 of 21 passes for 66 yards, with one interception.
Nick Arbuckle replaced him late in the third quarter. He had 186 passing yards, but he had two interceptions.
Ottawa (1-7) had to settle for a 25-yard field goal from Lewis Ward.
Titus Wall grabbed two passes from the opposing quarterback, returning one of them 46 yards for a touchdown late in the second quarter.
The Rouge et Noir will not play again until August 19, when the club will host the Elks.
The Stampeders will host the Lions on August 13.
