Milan Fashion Week poses the question: is it the best dressed city in the world?

For the first time in some time, Milan Fashion Week managed to paint the city in an electric mixture of faces, ideas and clothes that have made a strong argument: the city could very well be the best dressed place in the world.

On the slopes, several new creators have brought a fresh life to houses like Gucci, Jil Sander and Bottega Veneta, three labels on many lips at Fashion Week. Other programs looked like bitterness endings. The two founding designers of Sunnei surprised many guests by finishing her show with the announcement that they resigned 11 years after the start of the brand. And Armani, weeks after the death of his eponymous founder, showed the last collection he had made to a crowd dressed in black tie which included Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Spike Lee and more Hollywood elite.

Giorgio Armani’s heritage was also living in the streets, where the recurrence of intelligent pants seemed to nod his influence. It was difficult to turn a corner without meeting elegant people sporting autumn diapers, pointed shoes, wide coats or double chest jackets.
