Mikaël Kingsbury preceded by his Japanese rival

Quebec freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury was beaten by Japanese Ikuma Horishima to win a silver medal on Friday at the Deer Valley World Cup.

In this moguls event, Horishima scored 84.04 in the super final while Kingsbury received 82.84 points for his downhill. Sweden’s Walter Wallberg (79.62) completed the podium.

On the women’s side, Quebecer Chloé Dufour-Lapointe finished the competition in 15e place while his sister Justine concluded at 23e rank. The Japanese Anri Kawamura won the day’s race, ahead of the Australian Jakara Anthony and the French Perrine Laffont.
